To create a page in this wiki simply click on the New Page link at the top of the left navigation bar. You will then be prompted to make a new page using the following text box

If you are creating your personal page for your media team:


  • Use your last name and first initial for the name of the page (e.g. Miers P.)
  • Use the personal page template
  • add a tag for your class section: mwf12, mwf1, or tth1230
  • Add a tag for you team: music, video, social networking, mobile
  • Click on Create
  • follow the instructions on the template to embed the List of Links to a Page widget on your personal page.

If you are creating a page for an assignment:


  • Use your last name and first initial and the assignment name for the title of the page: e.g. Miers P. blog post analysis
  • Use the blank page template
  • Click on create


When you click on Create, you will be taken to the visual editor for your new page:

You will need to put a link to your personal page on every new page you create so that it will be listed on your personal page. To do this, position you cursor at the top of the new page and click on the insert link button (unbroken chain link icon) on the visual editor. That will open the insert link drop down window:

  • type your personal page name ( e.g. Miers P.) in the Link Text box.
  • start typing your personal page name in the Page Name box or click on the down arrow beside the Page Name box to find your personal page name in the alphabetical listing for all pages in the wiki.
  • click on Add Link button
After you create any assignment page, set notifications for the discussion board of that page:
  • click on the notify me tab at the top of the page
  • check the Page Discussions box
  • click on Update

Setting notification for page discussions will allow you to get email from me and your editors about your page. Since I monitor all page discussions in the wiki, you can query me at anytime about your page by posting on the discussion board.

All pages in the wiki are either locked or unlocked. Locked pages are marked with the lock icon in in the upper left of the page. When you create a page, keep in mind the following:
  • any member of the wiki can edit any unlocked page;
  • only organizers of the wiki can delete or lock a page
  • any material deleted from a page can be restored by clicking on the "history" tab and reverting the page to an earlier edit.

You should email pdmiers if:
  • other members of the wiki are contributing inappropriate or uninvited material to your project page;
  • you have encountered a problem editing a page which you don't know how to fix;
  • you have created a personal page which is not appearing on your team page, or you have created an assignment page which is not appearing on your personal page;
  • you wish to have a page you created deleted from the wiki.
